Over the years I have studied different types of art both formally and informally, and have worked hard to merge all of my knowledge into comprehensible pieces. In terms of what I enjoy most, it would have to be drawing animated figures and sculpting. I find sculpting to be relaxing and meditative, and allows me to produces beautiful art.
These are some of the pieces that I have created over the years:

I have been painting for over 30 years and lived in Florida until my husband and I recently moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Over the years I have studied different styles and mediums of painting and painting techniques both formally and informally. For the last several years I have been working in acrylics--both traditionally in the oil painting style and also in fluid acrylics in more of a watercolor look. I tend to work in two styles: a more realistic approach in my commissioned pet portraits and in a more stylized approach in my personal work.
I enjoy teaching art classes for both adults and children and have taught in many venues including art leagues, art clubs, schools, community centers, boys and girls clubs, in my studio, and even in a prison.
I am also a volunteer for Arts for Life, a wonderful non-profit organization whose teachers provide projects in visual arts, music and creative writing to children in hospital units and hospital outpatient clinics. Arts for Life website:
